United Caregiver Connection Inc began, in Pasco County Florida, as a peer support group for family caregivers and has continued to grow to include a medical equipment lending library and reach out to those online who have been asked to step into the role of caregiver. Here at United Caregiver Connection Inc, we understand that when someone doesn’t know many – or any – other people who are going through what they are coping with, they can feel isolated and stigmatized. Support groups exist to help people feel less alone and more understood. Seeing the larger need for connection, we launched support groups in neighboring communities, followed by a website, to help caregivers connect with one another and the ideas to help them become successful.
Because they are often thrust into their roles with little to no warning, caregivers need a place to help them grow in their ability to provide care with confidence and peace of mind. With our medical equipment lending library, we are able to help support caregivers with the tangible needs of caring for their loved one. United Caregiver Connection Inc. was designed to support caregivers by educating and empowering them while providing access to supports and resources to positively impact their lives and the lives of those in their care. The reason support for caregivers is needed is because too many caregivers are suffering in isolation. They are frequently overworked and under informed as they deal with debilitating burnout which manifests as a myriad of physical conditions like fatigue, sleep problems, weight issues, anxiety, chronic illness, and depression. While caregiving is a high stress situation, we know that with the right support, providing care to those in need can become less of a struggle and more rewarding.
That is the reason behind our why.

A FEW FACTS ABOUT BRENDA:
First and foremost, she is a Christian. Everything else follows that one defining fact.
She had rheumatic fever when she was three. This illness damaged her heart valves and led to a heart attack at the age of 39.
Much to her podiatrists’ dismay, her and shoes aren’t exactly a natural fit.
Following a car accident at 12, she had a partial pancreatectomy that she didn’t find out about it until she was 47. (That was an experience.)
She’s been writing poetry since she was very young and is a published author. Her book, The Inkwell Collection, is available on Amazon.
She speaks at various public venues and churches, covering topics such as self-care, soul health, caregiving, faith, addiction, and transformation.
Over the last 20 years, she has led a wide variety of workshops, classes, fundraising events, and women’s ministry programs. She’s taught Christian education, served in praise and worship, and has led support groups for families of children with disabilities.
She is the founder of United Caregiver Connection Inc, a medical equipment lending library and peer support group for family caregivers.
